Regional Development Australia Barossa (RDAB )is established as a partnership between Federal State and Local Government to drive regional coordination for economic diversity. “As the challenge for economic development in a global economy is diversification, the key to that diversification is skills, creativity and innovation. It is what develops our capability in so many forms. Design and creativity now play such a critical role in just about any industry. It is an important investment to be made.” Simon Crean MP, Minister for regional Australia, October 2011.

In addition to the 30 Year Plan, strategic context is found in Australian Government priorities including Broadband, Water, Skills, Climate change, Food Production and Access to Opportunity; South Australian Government Strategic Themes: Clean, green food industry, The mining boom and its benefits, Advanced manufacturing, A vibrant city, Safe and active neighbourhoods , Affordable living and Early childhood; and the strategic plans of the councils of Barossa Gawler Light and Mallala.
